Your first Christmas as a parent is undoubtedly one of the most poignant moments of the year.

From initiating new family traditions to simply revelling in your baby’s presence, your impression of your child’s first festive celebration is certainly one to be remembered.

And one couple who are determined to mark their twin babies’ first Christmas in style have hit the headlines this week as the public marvel at the generosity displayed by Father Christmas in the Hill household this year.

From rocking horses worth £4,500 to diamond bracelets costing £2,200, ten-month-old Jacob and Isabella Hill from Surrey will certainly be spoiled for choice once the morning of December 25th rolls around.

Acknowledging that their expenditure seems exorbitant considering that their two children haven’t yet grasped the concept of Christmas and gift-giving, 36-year-old Louise Hill insists she and her husband, Dan, feel compelled to mark the childrens’ first festive season in style.

Opening up about their decision to spend £25,000 on children who have yet to reach their first birthday, Louise explains: “We thought we might not have children so it was quite an emotional moment when we did manage to conceive - after such heartache I did go a bit bonkers.”

The couple, who conceived through IVF, insist no expense will be spared when celebrating the twins’ first Christmas – something which was proven when the couple secured a private booking for Santa’s Grotto at Marsh Farm in Essex.

Chatting about their incredible family day out, Louise explained; “That's been the main expense. They had to close the whole park for us. They'd usually have 100 people an hour. So unlimited time isn't cheap.”

Louise, who owns a dog grooming business, and Dan, who appears on TV’s Storage Hunters UK, accept that their outgoings in honour of the big day may seem astronomical, but they’re undeterred by criticism.

“This is the big one for us because it's their first Christmas. I’m the first to admit that so much of what we're doing is over the top and crazy, but the babies are just going to love it.”
