People have raised concerns about the safety of a child model hailed as 'the most beautiful girl in the world'.
Anastasia Knyazeva has her own Instagram, run by her mother under her own name, Anna. The Russian six-year-old has amassed a 530K-strong Instagram following.
Most of the shots on the Instagram feed are professionally done, but it is peppered with pictures of the six-year-old with her older brother or playing with toys. The mum has been sharing photos of Anastasia since she was four years old, and the child model has already starred in a number of campaigns.
Fans from around the world comment on the pictures, saying things like 'Beautiful eyes' and 'Prettiest kid ever to walk on Earth'. Some have even compared her to a living Barbie doll.
However, others see the constant social media attention as potentially harmful to such a young child.
Some are concerned that the comments people make about Anastasia's looks, whether positive or negative, will have a detrimental impact on her and other children's self-worth.
"This is too much for her. She is a kid," one person commented.
Another said, "Talk about giving children a complex about their appearance by announcing the prettiest child. This causes anorexia and bulimia in children."
A different Instagram user called out Anastasia's mother for letting her use makeup at such a young age, saying, "She is a child. Not cool."
Others have pointed out that the account is a prime target for paedophiles.
"Totally inappropriate in today’s world. Keep children safe and under wraps, instead of living vicariously through a child," said one Instagram user.
