There are tonnes of reasons why an image goes viral: it’s hilarious, it’s thought-provoking, it’s just plain entertaining. The following photo, however, has struck a chord with people all over the world for its sheer power to move you.

Colorado State Patrol Trooper Jaimie Jursevics tragically lost her life earlier this month after being struck by a drunk driver while investigating a highway crash. She left behind a beautiful eight-month-old daughter named Morgan.

In a chilling and powerful post, a colleague of Jaimie’s, from the Fremont County Sheriff’s Office, posted a warning message on Facebook, depicting little Morgan wearing her late mother’s hat.

“For anyone who is planning on just having a ‘few beers’ and driving home after, look at this little girl. She will grow up without her mother…who was hit by a drunk driver and killed…Is it worth it?” the message read.

The post, which was accompanied by the hashtag ‘drunk driving kills’, has gone viral this week, with people responding to the image with heartbreak.

If the poignant post can prevent one person from getting behind the wheel when it’s unsafe to do so, this post will have done its work.

We're thinking of little Morgan and the rest of Jaimie's family at this very sad time.
