A meeting between three-year-old Ruth Evelyn Pranke and pilot Jessica Cox, both of whom were born without arms, has warmed hearts and gone viral all around the world.
Ruth’s mother, Karlyn, found out about her daughter’s condition when she was just 20 weeks pregnant and, searching for inspiration, she stumbled across Jessica’s story online.
And what an inspiration Jessica is; not only is she the world’s only armless pilot (she uses her feet to control the plane) but she is a third-degree black belt and an advocate for people with disabilities. Jessica has never let her condition get in the way of achieving her dreams.
Karlyn decided to reach out to Jessica and set up a meeting for her daughter, and after contacting her through Facebook, the special date was arranged.
The photos from their meeting were published online shortly after.
Needless to say, little Ruth was incredibly excited about meeting Jessica, with Karlyn commenting: “She’s been saying since we got home, ‘She’s just like me. She doesn’t have arms.’”
