Earlier this week, they said that they planned to be Clodagh Hawe’s ‘voice’, and mum Mary and sister Jacqueline are now taking action.

Mary and Jacqueline – who lost their beloved Clodagh along with sons Ryan, Niall and Liam – have launched a €50,000 fundraiser for Women’s Aid.

Both women pay an emotional tribute to the late Clodagh and her three sons, on the Everyday Hero page, which can be found through this link.

“Clodagh was strong and beautiful inside and out, and was so loving. She was warm, loving, bright and capable, and she was bringing her boys Liam, Niall and Ryan up to have those same qualities. They will live on, and her strength will live on,” the dedication reads.

They have issued a rallying call to the nation, to support their efforts to help others in similar circumstances to the late Clodagh.

“We want their deaths to help other women who are living in fear and isolation in their own homes. So, please, support our fundraising appeal for Women’s Aid,” they add.

So far, touched by Clodagh’s story, the Irish public has reacted with extreme generosity, donating over €1,700.

We’re wishing Mary and Jacqueline all the best with their campaign.
