New reports claim that the baby and his parents have been safely located by police.

According to sources, the child was brought to Sydney Children’s Hospital last night, with the baby’s mother arrested on the scene. The father, Steven Kennedy, was located further south of the city.

Original report:

Police in Australia have issued an appeal to members of the public for information on the whereabouts of a couple who have gone into hiding with their six-day-old baby.

Authorities say they have “grave concerns” for the infant as he requires urgent medical treatment. They would not, however, elaborate on the details of the child’s condition.

According to reports, the couple – 28-year-old Salome Taufahema and 25-year-old Steven Kennedy – are evading the police, and a warrant has been issued for their arrest.

Sources claim that the couple left their home in the Regents Park area of Sydney on Wednesday, with just one unconfirmed sighting the following day. The child was last seen by a health worker who visited the family’s home to assess his condition.

Issuing a statement this morning, lead inspector Stuart Sweeney said: “The concerns are medical and we really want the parents to consider the position they are putting their child in. The child does require urgent medical treatment and we urge the parents to come forward to authorities.”

Let’s hope that we will have some more positive news to report by the end of the day; we will keep you updated.
