There have been some heartbreaking stories in the past year or so, whereby tragic accidents have occurred due to drivers and pedestrians who have been killed or seriously injured after being distracted by their phones.

Now, this latest story really emphasises how careful and vigilant we need to be when using our phones.

A 23-year-old mother has been charged with third-degree assault, reckless endangerment and reckless driving after her vehicle struck three teenagers in the States.

After examining her mobile phone on the scene, police were able to determine that Elizabeth Rachel Dove had been trying to record a video of her young child in the backseat at the time of the accident.

All three teenagers suffered broken bones but, thankfully, no life-threatening injuries.

This latest report comes after two young children watched both their parents fall to their deaths during a sightseeing trip in Portugal.

The couple reportedly moved aside a safety barrier at the top of a cliff in order to take a better picture of the view, and tragically slipped and fell off the edge.

These stories just serve to highlight how careful we need to be in these situations. While it’s lovely to have photos and footage of  your memories, safety should be your number one priority.
