We have witnessed some pretty powerful images in recent times, and in this technology-obsessed age, the following are photos that every single parent needs to see.

A new Chinese ad campaign has captured what a child sees when they look at their phone-addict parent – and the results certainly make for some uncomfortable viewing.

‘Phone Wall’ is presented as a literal representation of the barriers that screen addiction builds in our relationships with our loved ones, including our children.

Each image shows a giant mobile phone driving a physical wedge between two people; while one shows a mother and her child completely disconnected as they sit together on the couch, another powerful photo shows the phone separating two partners in their bed.

Commenting on the inspiration behind the campaign, Juggi Ramakrishnan of Ogilvy & Mather Shanghai (responsible for the campaign) said: “Pulling out a phone during a conversation is like erecting a brick wall between two people. We want people to see this and rethink their relationships with others and their phone in a different light.”

Specifically addressing how tech-obsession is affecting the relationships between parents and their children, Ramakrishnan added: “There is an alarming trend of parents ignoring their children of all ages, paying more attention to their phones and tablets than their immediate surroundings.”

He added that his hope is for parents to see these photos and become aware of how their tech-addictions could be affecting their relationships.
