In an effort to remind the public that a police officer's duties extend far beyond their badge, a sheriff's office in Florida has uploaded a photo of a particular officer tending to another very special commitment.
The image, which captures Cpl. Adam Dillman attending a tea party at the behest of his little girl, has reportedly had the desired effect and struck a chord with thousands of social media users.
Reminding the wider public that there exists an individual behind the uniform, the Collier Country Sheriff's Office in Naples gave a snapshot into the private lives of their officers.
Stunned by the response his photo has had online, Cpl. Dillman said: "I was just doing something she enjoys doing,"
Commenting on the image which was captured before he headed into the line of the duty for the day, the doting father and officer said: "To me it’s a reminder that deputies are fathers, mothers, brothers and sisters."
Paying tribute to his fellow colleagues and co-workers who put their lives on the line on a daily basis, Cpl. Dillman continued: "We all have families at home that are praying for our safety every day."
We can certainly see why so many people took a shine to this incredibly touching photo.
