While we've all experienced the stomach-churning moment we lose sight of our child in a crowded place, Irish dads have apparently endured this moment more often than Irish mums.

According to a survey conducted by Kooliobandz,a whopping 81% of Irish parents believe a father is more likely to become separated from his child in a public place.

One third of Irish parents surveyed admit they have endured the panic of losing sight of their child in public, but according to research a higher percentage of Irish dads have fallen foul of the event in comparison to Irish mums.

The study, however, doesn't focus purely on gender as findings reveal that parents aged between 45 and 54 were more likely to become separated from their child than their younger counterparts.

According to the poll, parents believe that their little girls are easier to take care of in public while little boys prove more difficult.
