Gluten free play dough

Gluten free play dough
 This is a lovely play dough that is suitable for children with wheat or gluten intolerance. 

225g cup rice flour
225g cup salt
225g cup cornflour
4 teaspoons cream of tartar
460 mls of hot water
2 tablespoons vegetable oil
Food colouring
1 teaspoon vanilla essence (optional but makes it smell lovely)

Place all of the ingredients into a large saucepan and mix well over a low heat until all of the ingredients are well combined and dough like. The mixture will be runny first but will firm up.

Remove from the heat and knead on a table or large board to remove any lumps.

Allow to cool fully before giving it to a child to play with.

Store in a resealable plastic bag or an airtight container to elongate it's life. (Don't forget not to hand the playdough to your little one when in a plastic bag).

If you want to make different colours, you need to mix all dry ingredients and then divide the uncooked dry ingredients between a few saucepans and cook separately.
