While we tend to find ourselves preoccupied with Christmas shopping and celebrations at this time of the year, each and every one of us should take a little time out to think of those who are not in the festive spirit right now.

This was the case for Caleb Ryan Sigmon recently, who has been donning the big red suit and passing on little children’s Christmas wishes to Santa and his elves.

Caleb took to Facebook this week to share a particularly heartwrenching ‘story from the big chair’, involving a couple are mourning the loss of their child.

In the post, Caleb recalled being approached by a man whose child passed away last year. The man was holding a framed photo of his little one, and Caleb and his team knew immediately what he wanted them to do.

Caleb proceeded to place the framed photo on his lap, and he posed just the same as he would for any Santa photo.

Recalling the emotionally-charged moment, he wrote: “After a handful of clicks, we walked over to the screen and he pointed, saying, ‘That's the one.’ The girl working the computer printed him a full photo package and he pulled out his wallet, saying that this was going to be his gift to his wife. We gave him the printed package, telling him that it was a gift and that we would be praying for his family, this Christmas.”

An embrace from the man left the entire team close to tears, and for Caleb, it drove home a very special message: “Pray for the broken-hearted. Smile at people. Just be kind. Love one another.”
