A roller coaster derailed and fell 30ft to the ground today at M&D's theme park in North Lanarkshire, Scotland.

 

Several have been injured after the 'Tsunami' crashed into the ground with eight to 10 people on board.

 

 

Those close to the scene rushed to help the injured and fire and ambulance services arrived shortly afterwards.

 

It is being reported that one person is still stuck in the wreckage at the evacuated theme park.

 

A spokesperson from Scottish Ambulance Service confirmed there were six ambulance crews and a specialist operation team on the scene.

 

 

A spokesman for Police Scotland said in a statement:

 

"We can confirm we are currently working with other emergency services to ascertain the full extent of the situation.

 

"We can confirm there are injured parties - approximately seven people."
