Shock as London mum and baby disappear down hole in the pavement

Passersby looked on in horror this morning as a woman and her child disappeared through a gap in the pavement outside a Fulham cafe in the British capital.

After hearing a loud scream, shocked onlookers reported that the woman and her baby appeared to fall through a hole in the path on North End Road in south west London.

Horrified members of the public took to social media to report the event, with one Instagram user posting a photo of the hole the woman and her child fell victim to.

Posting a photo from the scene of the accident, the user wrote: "OMG! Poor woman and pram just disappeared down this hole on North End Rd. Shes stuck down there. (sic)
 

Elaborating on the shocking event, the Instagram user went on to say: "It just happened! Loud scream and all I could see was the pram. Ambulance and fire on way to get her out. Scary."

Emergency services and rescue crews are reported to have arrived on the scene outside the Marrakech Express.
