The distribution of a list which named children believed to have engaged in anti-social and intimidating behaviour has yielded very worrying results.

Commenting on the list which was discovered ahead of a Fianna Fail meeting in Fettercairn, one concerned mother, whose son was named on the document, said: "My son is 17-years-old, he is a minor. He has never been charged with any anti-social behaviour."

Opening up about her son's reaction to the list and slamming the individuals behind the document, the mother went on to say: "He has fled our home because he's terrified that someone will drag him into a van and 'deal with him'. These are people making threats against very young people. It is a serious issue."

Horrified to learn that their children's names were included on the list, parents have spoken out about their concerns, saying: "We have been told we will be burned out of our house and that kids will be dragged into vans."

With many families admitting to to living in fear as a result of the controversial meeting, one parent expressed their disbelief, saying: "It is shocking to think that anyone could do this, putting the names of children on a list and circulating saying they are criminals."

Adamant there has been a mistake which has subsequently led to suspicion and concern among residents, the parent of one young person named said: "My son's name should not be on that list, but now he has been branded in the community."

The distribution of the list has caused much concern among residents who feel its existence has only served to stir up more unrest.

Fianna Fail spokesman Niall Collins has asserted that he does not know where the list originated which has led to suggestions that CCTV footage be reviewed in order to identify those responsible.
