A single mother in the UK has been left totally overwhelmed after receiving a touching letter and gift of £100 through her door from a total stranger.
In the weeks leading up to Christmas, Claire Rock was worried about how she was going to afford to pay for her five-year-old son John’s presents, and it seems a guardian angel was well aware of her struggles.
Last week, Claire was reduced to tears when she discovered a handwritten letter praising her as a mother, and containing £100 cash to help with the Christmas expense. The full letter read:
“To Claire,
I know life has been tough these last few months, and it’s hard to stay positive when it feels like nothing is going your way.
Please accept this as a gift to help keep the magic of Christmas so special for wee John.
We all know it’s not all about the money, but we know too that Christmas costs a fortune.
Stay positive,
Love from a fellow human.”
Speaking to The Huffington Post, the 44-year-old mother admitted that the note and the gift had touched her heart.
“I want others to know that there are so many kind people out there…I have two grown-up children, Conan and Sophie, and it’s made us more determined to do something good, like volunteering, over Christmas,” said a grateful Claire.
