We have all been there: your little one loses their favourite toy, the one that they can’t eat, sleep or breathe without, and you have no way of easing their distress.

While usually you must resign yourself to the fact that your baby’s toy is gone forever, the parents of 18-month-old Jackie were no doubt overjoyed when they miraculously got their little one’s lost toy back.

Flora the Bunny was found in Cambridge’s Grand Arcade car park back in November, and spent a little while in lost property before parking attendant David Craig decided to try and reunite him with his owner.

Setting up a Twitter account called @LostInCambridge, Mr Craig began tweeting pictures of Flora posing in different locations across the city.

After spotting a picture of Flora in a post retweeted by Kirstie Allsopp, Cambridge University professor John Danesh and his wife Natalie came forward to reclaim their daughter Jackie’s beloved cuddly friend.

Speaking to the Express after Flora’s homecoming, mum Natalie said: “I spent hours walking around the Grand Arcade shopping centre and retracing my steps but I just couldn’t find her.”

Mr Danesh added: “As soon as [Jackie] saw Flora she knew exactly who it was and started cuddling her as though she’d never been missing.”

Well done to Mr Craig for granting little Jackie’s Christmas miracle!
