As the country finds itself enveloped in fog, Met Éireann is issuing a status orange fog warning for all of Ireland.

The fog is expected to spread and become denser tonight, so drivers are warned to be extra cautious on the roads.

The status orange warning will be valid until 2am Friday morning.

Status yellow rainfall warnings also have been issued for Munster, Galway, Mayo and Sligo.

Heavy rain is expected later on Friday, which will last overnight and continue into part of Saturday.

30 to 50mm of rainfall are expected in those areas.

The status yellow warning will remain in effect from 3pm Friday to 3pm Saturday.

Stay safe out there, mums!
