Just because you are carrying around a little bundle of joy doesn’t mean you need to put off all your holiday or travelling plans until your baby is walking and talking. In fact, a babymoon - where you have a last holiday before you enter motherhood - is fast becoming popular. However, being pregnant and catching a flight is a whole lot different than flying without a bump.

So, to ensure you are comfortable on the flight at all times, have a read of these six tips:

Wear comfy clothes
This goes without saying. A pair of leggings and a loose fitting top will mean you will feel a little less restricted and be able to move around a lot more freely. Alternatively, wear a long maxi dress and layer on your clothing because a flight can get quite cold.

Aisle seat
Whether you are located at the front of the plane or at the back, try to reserve the aisle seat. This way you will be able to get up a lot easier when you have to go to the bathroom without disturbing others and it will also mean you will be able to stretch your legs when you are starting to feel cramped.

Take off your shoes
Take off your shoes whether or not you have your flight socks on. Try to put your legs either stretched out in front of you or put your hand luggage on the ground and rest your feet on them. Move your toes around to keep the blood flowing. Flip flops are great, as it means you can pop your travel socks on whenever you can.

Bring a head rest
Bring a blow up head rest so that you can put your head back and relax or have a snooze. This will mean you won’t end up falling asleep on the person next to you it will also mean you won’t wake up with a creak in your neck.

Bring a blanket
While most airlines will provide you with a blanket, you might feel more comfortable bringing your own. One that will cover you from shoulder to feet is best as it will mean you will be able to snuggle down into it.

Eye mask
Pregnancy can wear you out and even more so when you are on a aeroplane. Unfortunately, you won’t be able to take any sleeping tablets, unless prescribed by your doctor, so pop an eye mask into your hand luggage. This will mean you might be able to get some shuteye before you land.
