In modern life it’s easy to get caught up in the hustle and bustle, and put things like visits and catch-ups on the long finger – but the following photo series has proven why we need to stop and appreciate the important things in life, especially when it comes to our grandparents.

New Mexico-based photographer Amy Luna has made waves online this week, after sharing a beautiful series of photos she took of her grandparents. The purpose of the collection: to help her to remember them when they are gone, and to remind others to appreciate the precious time they have with their own.

Sharing the photos with The Huffington Post, Amy said: “My grandparents are probably two of the most important people in my life. I wanted to document basically everything that is prominent in my mind when I think of my grandparents, just to have in my heart forever.”

The scenes captured by Amy will likely strike a chord with everyone reading this post: reading to the little ones, doing a spot of embroidery, doing the crosswords and talking on the phone.

While these images and moments may appear simple, Amy said that the message behind them is an important one that everyone should take on board: “I want to show them to really cherish moments, to cherish family members and time that you have with family members.”

Coming up to Christmas, we can’t think of a better message to send out.
