In light of the recent incident whereby a diner owner in the US was called out for screaming at the young child of a patron, this latest story will no doubt restore the faith of parents everywhere.

A couple in the States were in for quite the surprise recently, after what was a rather eventful dinner date with their children.

Melissa and Jason Wistehuff were settling down for a meal with their three young children, when two-year-old Ian threw a tantrum. Describing the incident to Yahoo Parenting, mum Melissa said: “It went from zero to 60 in the blink of an eye.”

Melissa immediately decided to take Ian outside to calm him down, and she received quite a few disapproving looks as she struggled to get the tot out of his high-chair. When she eventually returned with Ian, he grew agitated once more – but that wasn’t all she had to deal with.

While dad Jason took Ian outside to calm him down, the couple’s seven-year-old son Luca declared that he was going to be sick. Melissa just about made it to the cash register to call for the bill while on the way to the bathroom with her son.

When Melissa went to pay her bill, she was in for quite the shock – it had already been covered by a fellow diner. The waiter explained how the customer in question had admired how the Wistehuffs took care of their children – and they also felt a bit sorry for them after their ordeal.

Commenting on the incident, Melissa said: “Just when you think that the world is putting you down, they’re not. They’re picking you up. They completely changed our night.”
