According to lawyers representing a teenage boy who was accused of bringing a bomb into a classroom at the start of the school year, their client deserves approximately $15 million in damages.

Attorneys for Texas high school student, Ahmed Mohamed, assert that the youngster was publicly mistreated during a furore which hit the headlines in September.

Having brought a homemade clock to MacArthur High School in Irving in a bid to impress both staff and students alike, the tech-savvy youngster was accused of having an explosive and subsequently arrested.

Although not charged, Ahmed's treatment at the hands of police and school officials rocked the wider community, with representatives for the teen now insisting he deserves compensation for the recent events.

Stating their case, the law firm representing Ahmed advised both the city of Irving as well as the Irving Independent School District that they would be seeking $10 million and $5 million respectively.

Representative for the teen, who has since moved to Qatar with his family, have threatened law suits and demanded apologies from all those involved in the high-profile incident.

As it stands, a spokeswoman for the city of Irving is currently reviewing the case.
