Our family had the pleasure of test driving the SsangYong Tivoli XLV last weekend. We won the weekend break away to The Kilashee House Hotel and got to drive this gorgeous car; it was a great opportunity to see if this family car could really deliver all that it promises. With three boys of all ages I figured it had its work cut out.
We were delighted with the car. It's a great size for a family of five, it comes with all the usual bells and whistles, and we particularly liked the sat/nat, air con, leather interior, sunroof, heated seats (front and back!), and we loved the added extras like the tinted windows in the back (great for the little ones) and the USB and HDMI charging points (vital - according to my eldest).
My husband did most of the driving and he loved the six speed gearbox, the cruise control and all the high tech gadgets. As for me I loved the fact that my tyre pressures were listed on the dash - checking tyre pressure is one job I dont like so that could be forever knocked off my list. Also there were cup holders/spaces everywhere. Very handy when on a journey away.
The biggest advantage of this car is how deceptively roomy it is. It is not only spacious inside but there is loads of headroom front and back. Coming from driving an estate car, I thought we might find the boot a squeeze. We are at the stage of having to transport scooters everywhere with us for the boys. There is so much height in the boot, not only did we fit all our bags, coats, etc for the weekend but the scooters too with ease. It's the little things that make life easier. The SsangYong Tivoli XLV is priced at €24,950 (excluding delivery and charges) whcih is a great price for a brand new car, and there is a lot of car for your money. It really is exceptionally good value for all that you get.
I would have no hesitation for recommending this car to families with kids of all ages. Superb.
