A new lead in the Madeleine McCann case is proving so ‘important’ that Scotland Yard is providing more funding to fully investigate.
According to The Sun, authorities are following up a tip-off that the three-year-old was taken by European traffickers, who had photographed her earlier on during her holiday.
The new information is said to be very significant, and police sources say that this could be ‘the last throw of the dice’ in the investigation.
The Sun quotes a source who said: “This is an important new line of inquiry which could provide an explanation on whether Madeleine was abducted and transported away.”
“It raises hope that she could still be alive,” the source added.
Madeleine was holidaying in the Algarve, in a resort in Praia Da Luz, when she went missing from her apartment.
The tot’s parents, Kate and Gerry, have insisted that they will never give up the search for their daughter, who would now be 13 years old.
While there have been many tip-offs and lines of inquiry over the past nine years – with Kate and Gerry themselves coming under scrutiny – the mystery of Madeleine’s disappearance has never been solved.
Let’s hope something comes of this latest lead.
