We may not be able to vote in the up-coming presidential election in the US, but that has not stopped many of us following both campaigns fairly closely.

And most of us will remember where we were when Trump’s comments to Billy Bush about grabbing women by the p***y were leaked. But, unfortunately, it wasn’t just adults who had to listen to what he said.

Yes, those comments where he managed to degrade women and start a Twitter uproar which saw thousands of women share their own experience of sexual assault were also heard by kids unfortunate enough to either see it on the Internet or hear it on the news.

And while it may have gone over a lot of little heads, there were definitely a few kids who had a few questions about what Trump said – and Colin Farrell’s son was one of them.

Talking to Ellen on The Ellen DeGeneres Show yesterday, the father-of-two explained how his son Henry, who lives in New York with his mum, Alicja Bachleda-Curús, has been following the campaign closely.

However, when Donald’s horrific comments were leaked, the 40-year-old said he had to figure out how to explain it to his son.

"I've had to explain to him why Trump keeps on being mean to kittens," Farrell told Ellen.

"He just keeps grabbing those kittens.

"He wasn't a huge fan of  Trump initially - a little bit because of his hair... and now he can't stand Trump because I had to explain to him why Trump keeps being mean to kittens.”

The Total Recall actor is also dad to 13-year-old James from his relationship with Kim Bordenave.
