By now you may have heard the incredible story of little Evelyn Moore, the 13-month-old who has been making headlines with her amazing homemade wheelchair.

Diagnosed with neuroblastoma at just four months, the tot became paralysed from the arms down, and her parents were told she would only be able to ‘army crawl’ until old enough to use a wheelchair.

Kimberly and Brad Moore knew there had to be an alternative, and so they created a special wheelchair for their precious tot.

Now, the parents have revealed exactly how they created the wheelchair: a simple DIY idea on content-sharing site Pinterest!

Brad took a second-hand Bumbo seat (typically used for potty-training) and attached it to a cutting board; he then added casters and wheels to complete the wheelchair. The whole project took him one evening, and cost about $100 (€90).

As you will know from footage and images released of Evelyn using her purple chair, she took to it like a duck to water and can now explore the world around her without bounds.

Indeed, Evelyn’s parents have even had to set up speed bumps around the home, in order to keep their ‘fearless’ tot safe!

What a fantastic idea. It just goes to prove that there is a wealth of inspiration and ideas out there to share.

SHARE to spread Evelyn’s amazing story far and wide.
