People are praising this team of firefighters for their heart-warming act of kindness.

Roseville Fire Department responded to a 'medical incident' involving a young child in California earlier this week. The youngster was safely transported to the hospital, however, the firemen had one other role to carry out.

The Roseville Fire Department work tirelessly to help others and to keep the community out of danger. They put out threatening fires and even rescue kittens from trees. However, there’s one more thing they can add to their list of duties.

One fireman extended his duties and took on the role of babysitter. The team decided to wait with the young girl, whose father had to travel with his other injured child to the hospital.

The crew had no issue with spending a little bit of extra time at the scene of the incident. They wanted to make sure the young girl was safe until her mother, who was out at the time, returned to the family home.

The girl's mum had been alerted about the situation, but luckily the firemen were there to lend a hand.

Their generosity meant the father could travel to the hospital without having to stress out about finding someone to take care of his daughter.

The firemen took to social media to share some heart-warming photos with the public.

They wrote on the Roseville Fire Department Facebook page: "Engine 5 responded to a medical call this afternoon where the patient (who is a minor) had to be transported to the hospital by AMR with the dad.

"The Engine 5 crew stayed with the sibling until mom, who was out at the time, could come home. During this time Engineer Burns did a great job keeping her entertained by reading books."

The post received hundreds of comments and has been shared nearly 200 times.

Their Facebook page was flooded with words of praise. People were so fond of the kind gesture that they shared it over 2000 times.

One mum commented saying, “Love this so much, I wonder about details of an emergency in our home. My daughter with autism would not handle going to the hospital with me, now I can rest assured she would be in good hands until help arrives. Thanks, Roseville!”

One man wrote, “That man deserves a big round of the applause and a big award for being a great Chief! My hats go off to you and your random act of kindness.”

The thoughtful Engine 5 firemen are true heroes.
