For those of us who just aren’t ready for a four-legged friend, a goldfish is the perfect pet: they’re beautiful, they’re easy to care for, and they can teach our kids a lot about responsibility.

In fact, the hardest part of the process is wiping away the tears after Fishy dies – and this video captures the heartbreak perfectly.

Dee Griffin and her son Pierce welcomed their goldfish, Cupid, into their family almost a month ago. Sadly, however, he died this week.

Dee took to Facebook to share a video of Cupid’s send-off, and any parent who has ever owned a goldfish will be able to relate to the trauma unfolding over their toilet bowl.

“Thank you, God, for our fish,” sobs poor little Pierce, who is having a hard time parting ways with his pet.

Pierce just can’t seem to let Cupid go, even thinking at one point that he can see his fish moving.

This is where Dee has to take control of the situation, and help Pierce to say one final goodbye to his beloved pet.

This is too relatable!
