We have some very sad news to share with you this evening, as police in the UK have confirmed that the bodies found on Tuesday were, indeed, those of Sian Blake and her two young sons.

The devastating news was confirmed following reports that three bodies had been discovered in the garden of the former Eastenders actress’ home earlier this week.

A postmortem examination was carried out earlier today, with authorities revealing that Ms Blake and her two young sons died as a result of head and neck injuries.

The 43-year-old and her two sons, eight-year-old Zachary and four-year-old Amon, went missing on December 13. Ms Blake’s partner, Arthur Simpson-Kent was interviewed shortly after, before going missing himself.

A search was launched in a bid to locate Ms Blake and her sons, with public appeals issued over the past fortnight.

Sadly, the search came to a tragic end earlier this week, when police made the shocking discovery at Ms Blake’s Kent home.

Forensic investigations were carried out in the garden behind the house, where tents were set up to accommodate the formal identification of the bodies.

Police have now launched a full-scale search for Ms Blake's partner, Mr Simpson-Kent, with the deceased's sister making an emotional plea today for him to come forward.

This is such a very tragic end to this news report, and our hearts go out to the family of Ms Blake at this devastating time.
