As anyone with a twin will attest, the relationship you share with them is incredibly powerful.

From feeling each other’s pain to simultaneously thinking the same thoughts, the story of the bonds experienced by twins are endless.

Adding to that plethora of heartwarming tales are identical twins sisters, Karen and Kathy Escobar, from Texas who found themselves pregnant at the same time.

Although not due until July 31st, Karen arrived at The Women’s Hospital of Texas experiencing contractions last Wednesday.

Seeking support from her sister Kathy during the emotional visit, Karen asked her twin, who wasn't due to deliver her own child until June 20th, to remain by her side in the hospital.

Upon quickly ascertaining that Karen was in the early stages of labour, Kathy began to experience her own pains, with CEO of the hospital, Ashley McClellan, saying: “They never thought they would be delivering on the same day.”

Upon giving birth to a healthy baby girl at 05.33, Kathy then became an aunt when her twin sister delivered her own child just two hours later.

Commenting on the fact both women went into early labour and delivered on the same day, Ashley went on to say that all parties were happy and healthy, declaring: “Both moms and babies are doing very well.”

Congratulations to Karen and Kathy on their new arrivals!
