You can’t make this stuff up.

It’s been reported that two great-grandmothers were made leave a maternity hospital after their argument broke into a fist fight. And we thought our family gatherings were explosive!

The incident took place in a hospital in Pennsylavania, US (but of course!) while the two women were waiting for the birth of twin great-grandchildren.

What caused the fight between Shirley Irvin (72) and Carole Alberts is currently unclear. Reports say Shirley approached Carole after overhearing a comment and the two began arguing. Carole’s daughter tried to break the argument up, but Shirley threw a punch, dislodging her cochlear implant and knocking it to the floor.

Shirley claims Carole said something about the health of the twins and may have made a comment about Shirley’s son, who is Carole’s son-in-law.

All three women were reportedly asked to leave the maternity ward and no doubt missed the birth of the twins, which really is heartbreaking. Shirley has also been charged with assault and harassment.

Police obtained a video of the incident – and if we’re very honest, we really want to take a peek.

We’re never going to grumble about our families ever again…or at least for the next hour.
