In light of the tragic endings to many of the missing child stories we hear on a weekly basis, the latest update in this case will come as a major relief to people all over the world.

Two days after she was reported missing, a two-year-old Ohio girl has been found and is said to be in a ‘stable’ condition in hospital.

Little Rainn Peterson was staying at her great-grandparents’ home when she went missing. Her frantic great-grandparents contacted the police late Friday night, and the search for her covered all of Ohio as well as parts of Pennsylvania.

Thankfully, the tot was found alive by a member of the public on Sunday evening, in a field approximately one mile south of her great-grandparents’ home. The volunteer claims that Rainn was sleeping in some tall grass when she was found.

Speaking to the media today, Trumbull County Sherriff Tom Altiere confirmed that Rainn “appears okay” and is now in a stable condition in a local hospital.

The authorities are now investigating exactly how Rainn managed to get from the house to the field.

Thank heavens Rainn was safely found. We can’t imagine how thankful and relieved her family are right now.
