A UK branch of global fast food restaurant, McDonald's, has announced it will refuse permission individuals under the age of 18 to eat inside the restaurant unless they are in the company of an adult - a move which has been met with anger by many parents

According to The Metro, the outlet on the London Road in Sutton have taken the measures in response to increasing cases of antisocial behaviour.

Commenting on the decision to refuse entry to unaccompanied youngsters, an unnamed manager of the branch said: "In the past big groups have smashed the windows by throwing rocks at them and vandalised furniture inside, our staff have even had drinks poured on them by teenagers."

Speaking to the Sutton Guardian, they continued: "Some also smoked drugs outside and parents were complaining to us about their behaviour and, I mean, it is a family restaurant and they felt uncomfortable having teenagers acting like that near their children."

Dismayed the branch would implement an outright ban, one parent said: "It is discrimination that paints all teenagers with the same brush. I can understand that some people need to be told to eat outside, but they had not done anything wrong."

According to the report, youngsters are forbidden from eating inside this branch of McDonald’s between 12pm and 8pm unless they have an adult with them.
