A safety notice was issued today by the Health Products Regulatory Authority (HPRA) after a number of complaints were made about incorrect pregnancy test results.

Two batches of Clungene Pregnancy tests have been discovered to be faulty, and are giving women "false positive" readings.

The tests are manufactured in China and distributed in Ireland by Kora Healthcare, who has confirmed these tests are on the market.

The HRPA has issued the lots numbers for the faulty batches of the Clungene Pregnancy tests as lots 13122001 and 14060301.

Consumers have been urged to keep a look out for these products and report any concerns to the HRPA.

The manufacturers are currently investigating the issue.
