It looks like we might have a white Christmas as Storm Caroline is set to bring icy weather conditions to Ireland this week. It's time to rummage out the winter woollies from your wardrobe as a weather warning has been issued ahead of Storm Caroline’s arrival.

 

You will need to wear your warmest jumper or maybe even two, as winter showers are on the way.

 

It is set to become extremely cold within the next 24 hours with wintry showers and extremely cold temperatures forecasted for Thursday.

 

Temperatures are set to hit as low as minus two Celsius

 

Met Éireann has placed wind warnings in Galway, Donegal, Leitrim, Sligo, Mayo, Clare and Kerry.

 

 

They have warned the public that there will be hail, sleet and even snowfall across parts of Ulster, Connacht and West Munster.

 

Met Éireann has stated that there will be a dramatic change in the weather. 

 

There is also a risk of thunder on the west coast.

 

The warning will stay in place until Thursday evening at 8 pm.
