Dry, cracked feet can look pretty unsightly. If you can’t afford to get a pedicure to get rid of the dry skin on your feet, try a homemade foot scrub in the comfort of your own home. Using homemade foot scrubs can help keep your feet soft and smooth and can manage and prevent dryness and calluses from occurring.

Scrubbing your feet regularly when you shower or bathe can loosen dead skin cells and do wonders for your circulation. Follow these steps on how to make a homemade foot scrub and treat your feet to nourishing, moisturising ingredients that will help them stay soft and gorgeous.

How to make a homemade foot scrub
Mix 4 tablespoons of salt or sugar in 1/2 cup of oil (baby oil, sweet almond, coconut oil or vegetable oil works well). Put the mixture to the side.
Soak your feet in 1 cup of milk and 5 cups warm water for 5-10 minutes
Massage the homemade foot scrub in a circular motion into bottoms of feet
Scrub the bottoms of your feet with a pumice stone
Rinse and dry feet well

It is recommended to experiment with different types of oils in your homemade foot scrubs. Essential oils are great for treating dry foot problems and easing tired feet.

A refreshing foot scrub recipe with essential oils
Add two drops each of rosemary and peppermint essential oils to a mixture of three tablespoons of baking soda which will act to exfoliate and soften the skin.
Then add two teaspoons of olive oil which will moisturise and nourish your skin.
Gently rub the mixture over wet feet, focusing on heels and toes. The peppermint and rosemary will stimulate circulation in your feet. Rinse off, dry, and moisturise with a foot lotion.
