Even with thousands of miles separating them, this family still found a way to make their family Christmas card special.

With her husband Brandon deployed to Iraq, mum-of-four Ashley Sistrunk decided no amount of distance would stop their family from creating their annual Christmas card so putting her Photoshop skills to use, she made the best of what she had.

Ashley decided to get organised at her home in Colorado and along with her four kids, posed for their Christmas picture as per usual.

"I hate wanting to wish away a holiday. Christmas is one of my favourite holidays, but with Brandon gone and the kids begging to have him home on Christmas, it just won't be the same," Ashley said on Instagram.

Sending clear instructions to Brandon, the crafty mum was able to create this incredible moment by combining their two pictures from opposite sides of the globe.

“This one is more ‘us’. Merry Christmas, from our family to yours,” Ashley captioned her family picture on Instagram which has now gone viral.
