47-year-old Judy Brown thought the changes she ws experiencing were down to the menopause, not realising that was far from what was actually happening.

Suffering with severe abdominal pain, Judy’s husband, Jason, brought her to the hospital and it was here they found out they she was, in fact, in labour.

"The nurse said it's good news, you don't have any blockages or anything - you're pregnant, and you're going to have her now," the mum-of-one explained to ABC News.

The first child for the couple, who have been married 22 years, they have named her Carolyn Rose after their own mothers.

They had to borrow a car seat and bassinet so they can leave the hospital.

Judy is not alone in her experience; last year, we reported on the story of Katie Kropas whose labour was a surprise as well.

“They just say, 'you were carrying around 10 extra pounds and you didn't know it?' I don't know why I didn't know. I mean, I'm just excited and I appreciate everyone who is helping," Katie said at the time.
