Moaza Al Matrooshi has given birth to a healthy baby boy after doctors at a London hospital restored her fertility thanks to frozen ovarian tissue she had removed as a child.

It’s thought to be the first birth of its kind in the world, with the 24-year-old mum calling it “a miracle”.

Moaza was born with a condition called Beta Thalassaemia which can be fatal if left untreated.

Forced to undergo chemotherapy at just nine years old, Moaza’s mother suggested doctors remove her right ovary in the hopes that she may be able to have a family in the future.

At 23, Moaza was prematurely going through menopause when surgeons transplanted the ovarian tissue back into her body.

Within three months, her hormones returned to normal and soon Moaza was ovulating.

Incredibly, Moaza delivered a baby boy in Portland Hospital yesterday and both mother and baby are said to be doing well.
