When his wife went into labour, we doubt Chicago resident, Javier Sanchez, imagined he’d be the one to bring their beautiful baby girl into the world.

As he drove his wife, Maria Estrada to the hospital, her contractions quickly increased in strength, until she told him the baby wasn’t going to wait for them to make it to the hospital.

Javier was forced to pull off the expressway and call 911. It was an obviously stressful situation, with the dad-to-be telling the operator: “I’m more nervous. More me. I don’t know what to do, oh my God!”

However, Javier was a true hero and moments later he was holding eight-pound Camiela Ruiz Estrada Sanchez in his arms and asking paramedics to come as quickly as possible.

Mum and baby were taken to West Suburban Medical Centre where they were deemed to be in good health.

Well done to both parents for their bravery!
