Homemade tomato sauce
Making a tomato sauce from scratch, couldn’t be easier and won’t contain unnecessary sugars the store bought one’s tend to have.
 

1 tbsp olive oil

1 onion, finely chopped

2 cloves garlic, minced

400g chopped tomatoes, drained

1 chicken stock cube

1 tsp dried basil

1tsp dried oregano

1 tbsp balsamic vinegar

Heat the olive oil in a saucepan over medium heat and add the onion, gently frying the onion until it becomes translucent.

Add in the garlic and then the tomatoes and stock mixing well.

Bring to the boil then add the balsamic vinegar and herbs then simmer for 10 minutes.

Season to taste and serve with pasta or freeze for a later date.
