I’m moving to a slightly bigger home with my family and will be setting up a new kitchen. Any tips on what kitchen essentials I need?

If you are setting up a new kitchen or re-inventing your old one, it’s best to keep the equipment to a minimum until you get a ‘feel’ for the space you have. As long as you have a cooker, a fridge and somewhere to wash the dishes, everything can be sorted in time.

The more you enjoy cooking, the more gadgets you buy. Tired kitchens usually have cupboards full of gadgets that aren’t used. If you buy a new kitchen gadget, make sure to discard or give away the one that hasn’t been used in the last 18 months.

Here is a list of essential cooking equipment. None of these should gather dust in your house. Start with these and add as you go along. Good luck with the move.
