You asked

How can we have a balanced healthy diet without getting stressed about it?

On average we have nine recipes that are constantly repeated over and over - after all we are creatures of habit. But the bigger the selection of recipes, the better the chance you have of meeting all nutritional requirements.

The new way to keep recipes safe is to build your own personal digital cookery book. Keep adding recipes to your collection (build up at least 20) so you can use them to meal plan and to create your shopping list automatically.

When planning meals don't forget to include the following:
  • 1 red meat recipe
  • 1 chicken recipe
  • 1 fish dish
  • 1 meatless recipe
  • 1 leftover recipe made using store cupboard ingredients and any foods leftover from the previous four recipes.

If you are new at meal planning, start with recipes you know well.  Once you get used to this new promised, you can begin to include other recipes with a wider variety of ingredients.

When you decide to use a new recipe make sure to read it from start to finish to get a feel for the finished dish and to get the timing right.
