While you can never really tell if you are pregnant until you have taken a test, there are a few signs that you can keep an eye out for. From sore breasts to exhaustion there are plenty of symptoms that are fairly common, but there are also some obscure ones that you may not have even noticed.

If you think you are pregnant but haven't quite managed to do a test, keep an eye out for the following symptoms:

1. Feeling emotional

Mood swings are to be expected as your hormone levels change to accommodate Baby; even in the early days, you may cry and laugh at the flip of a switch or even erupt in a temper tantrum that seems to come out of nowhere.

2. Experiencing vaginal discharge

A white milky discharge is common at the start of your cycle, but it can also be an indicator that you are expecting. But what causes it? The discharge is usually due to a thickening of the vaginal walls after conception.

3. Feeling the heat

As you probably already know, your body temperature rises slightly soon after ovulation but when you are pregnant it stays like this throughout.

4. Having dizzy spells

As your blood pressure drops and your blood vessels dilate, you may actually feel lightheaded or dizzy. Stand up and sit down slowly, and seek attention if it is extreme.

5. Battling through headaches

You can blame this on your increased blood volumes and ever-charging hormones.

6. Heartburn

While it is a commonly known symptom during the late stages of pregnancy, you may even experience it before you have done a test! In the early days, acid can leak into your oesophagus as your hormones relax the valve between it and your stomach.
