Hope someone can help

Hi Everyone
Im new to all this so please bear with me, I found out mid January that we were expecting our third baby, when i found out we workled out that i was 5 weeks gone so this week would be 8 weeks, On monday i started spotting brownish discharge, went to a&e and was told cervix still closed and no explanation of the blood, went for an early scan y/day and they could ony see sac and am only measuring at 5 weeks 3 days so have to go back next week for second scan, since monday bleeding has gotten slightly redder and had a small clot last night but just bleeding since. Im preparing myself for the worst next week but as im only experiencing slight back pain i dont know what to think and havent had a strtaight answer from either my own gp or the ob/gyn in cavan.
Can anyone tell me have they experienced anything like this before and am i right to be worried?
