Hi, I'm looking for advice , I went for my first hospital visit last week in Holles St. (11.5weeks pregnant) and I was asked to take part in a test for pre- eclampsia.
They have booked me in again next week in the hospital, I will get a detailed baby scan and a Doppler scan of the bloods to the baby , they will take my history again , urine and blood tests, and then from these results I will be put into one of three groups. It's to test the theory behind aspirin in helping woman prevent pre- eclampsia.
So the first group will take a certain about of aspirin through their pregnancy, the second group doesn't take any and the third group will take a different amount of aspirin.
Im not sure if I should take part, it's all meant to be perfectly safe for the baby and I do like the idea I will be helping out future studies but then there is something at the back of my mind saying why do it, what if they 0.1% could be harmful! I don't know, like I like the idea of having another detailed scan but I'm unsure too. Has anyone else agreed to take part in this test or has anyone any advice for me? Xx
