We were away for the weekend and are going to be away again so didn’t need too much on the food front this week compared to normal. I did pick up some more of the delish Striploin Steaks which (if we can get 5 minutes without rain) I’ll BBQ again. I also picked up a pack of Beef Quarter pounders to try and at €2.89 for 4 these are excellent value.

My children love chicken nuggets which I make from scratch so I got Braemoor Diced Chicken Breasts to whip up a batch later in the week.

A real eye opener for me this week was the amazing value to be had in the cleaning and household items. I picked up dishwasher tabs for €3.29 which is more than half of what I would usually pay.  A pack of universal cloths (j cloths) for 69cent for 10 which is an absolute steal but my favourite items this week were the scented plug-ins which are just €3.49 each. I bought two, Lavender and Jasmine. These are usually 2 to 3 times the price in my usual supermarket so am delighted with these. I plugged the lavender one in as soon as I got home and the smell is lovely so will definitely be buying more.

I bought another box of the 2in1 liquid tabs which are €3.99 for a box of 20 tabs - I can honestly say there is no difference between these and my usual brand, except in the price which is much less.

I also purchased a table cloth which was a bargain at €4.99. They had round or rectangular to choose from and about 5 or 6 different colour and patterns.

Given the amount of household/cleaning items I bought this week I would have expected to pay at least €130/€140 so was extremely happy with the €84 it cost me in Lidl.
