Paparazzi ‘Moms’ or better known as ‘Mamarazzi’

I drive my husband crazy. He’ll be delighted I’ve said this because it’s true and possibly in more ways than one but mainly because I always have my phone in my hand!!

My phone is literally full of photos of Alby. I have photos for every little thing that he does and the child has actually started to just do ‘nothing’ every time the phone comes out (is that even possible for a five month old?) He must be thinking ‘no more cute tricks until you put that thing away’.

He inherited a lot of his dads traits some I’m very grateful for like being such a laid back baby and the other unfortunately for me is that he hates photos. It’s bad enough that I have a phone full of photos, with a nice screen saver/ wallpaper to match and then I had to go and wrap that phone up with a nice personalised photo phone cover, not for the fainthearted!

See here’s the thing I don’t believe I’m on my own here. I see the ‘Mamarazzi’ everywhere I go. In the park, in the shopping centre, in playgrounds and restaurants. Are we thinking I must catch them looking this cute in this cute outfit I bought and what if they never do that trick again? Either way they need to bring out phones with bigger storage memory that’s all I know!

What do you do with all these photos then? I made a pact to get them printed every few months so he has pictures and photo albums to look at when he’s older. With the way technology is moving it won’t be somethingwe’ll continue to do for very long. Who doesn’t love looking at childhood pictures, it was always one of my favourite things to do and ask my mam every two minutes ‘mam who’s that?’

I’m so bad though I won’t actually go in and sit at one of those machines for an hour waiting for all 4,000 photos to load I simply downloaded an app, select the photos I want and they deliver to your door! Super handy for the ‘Mamarazzi’.

Finally when I meet people for the first time like in the hair dressers or out and about and you get talking about your kids is it everacceptable to take out the phone and start showing off pictures of your children? Before I had Alby I would say definitely not sure you just met them five minutes ago but there’s something about having children and that instant connection with other mums that makes it ‘ok’ somehow. I’ll show you mine if you show me yours and all that!

For everyone else, yes I fully accept that it is cringe worthy and just another confirmation that we are definitely a generation of ‘Paparazzi Moms’.
