Tip 6: Think outside the box

I didn't realise how much daddy liked to build cars until we played Think Outside the Box at home as part of the IKEA family range of ideas. The cardboard boxes that come into our house are usually flattened and out out for recycling...not turned into a magical car! My little girl wanted to make her car every colour of the rainbow so we stuck lots of the coloured paper we bought in IKEA on to the car with glue and tape. Next for the wheels, and our MALA plastic plates made for an excellent brightly coloured set of wheels...daddy insisted on making hubcaps with some more paper, while I used two MALA cups for the headlights. We had so much fun making our car that I don't think we'll ever throw out a cardboard box again! We had to tell our little girl that it needed to go to the garage for a rest just to get her to go to bed!
