As the economic crisis continues to affect our pockets, it seems that the results are starting to take its toll on our state of mind as well.

In a survey commissioned by children’s charity 4Children, it was found that adults today believe that their little ones will have a worse life than they have, due to harder family times.

The results showed that a surprising 52% think that family life is tougher today than it was back in 1994.

Nearly one-in-three mums and dads also think that growing up in an estate isn’t ideal for kids.

This means that up to 4 million UK children are living in areas that they’re parents aren’t happy with.

According to charity chief Anne Longfield, “Too many children and families are struggling in Britain today with limited potential and life chances as a result. Family life has changed beyond recognition over the past 30 years and our services and practices have often failed to keep up.”

Although there are concerns about our kids' future, some mums and dads are still positive, with 65 per cent believing their youngsters will be successful.
